FDS Flow Drill Screw Product Description
DS, short for Flow Drill Screw, is an advanced thermal friction drilling self-tapping fastener engineered for high-strength sheet metal joining. Made of high-performance alloy steel, the FDS screw relies on high-speed rotational friction to generate heat, softening the metal workpiece. It simultaneously drills the hole, extrudes a threaded boss, taps threads and tightens the joint in one single operation. Pre-drilling is not required, which cuts assembly time and reduces production costs.
Our FDS screws adopt zinc-nickel plating surface treatment. This coating offers outstanding corrosion resistance, high-temperature resistance and stable mechanical performance, suitable for long-term service under complex working conditions.
Specially optimized for new energy vehicle industry, FDS screws are widely used for connecting aluminum alloy and steel thin plates. Typical application scenarios include EV battery packs, vehicle chassis, body structures and motor housing assembly. This fastener creates a robust, reliable connection with excellent pull-out and shear strength.
